It is interesting that if you break down an average human body, the chemical composition has a worth of about four dollars and fifty cents in our world today. That includes everything – even your skin and bones.
This is what your body is when you break it down:
65% Oxygen
18% Carbon
10% Hydrogen
3% Nitrogen
1.5% Calcium
1% Phosphorous
0.35% Potassium
0.25% Sulfur
0.15% Sodium
0.15% Chlorine
0.05% Magnesium
0.0004% Iron
0.00004% Iodine
A dinner in your nearest hotel costs more than you – chemically speaking.
What makes us so valuable then?
Why do we invest so much for our lives?
Why is it that we think we are the most important thing in the existence of this world?
Why is it that we live like we’re worth more than just $4.50?
What value are we striving for if the world prices us as such?
Is there any reason else for us to believe we are more than four dollars and fifty cents?
More than just compositions
Being human means being more than just existing. We strive, we compete, we desire, we feel. We are beings with heart and soul – and that makes us more than just chemicals.
“So God created man in his own image…” – Genesis 1:27
God created us with a chemical composition worth $4.50 today – and yet when applying for life insurance, an individual can suddenly be worth more than $200,000.
When you ask anyone – any human being alive, if they would be willing to be priced at $4.50, anyone would give you an outright ‘no’
No one wants to be worth $4.50
Where do we find value?
Value is the price a person is willing to pay. If you were to ask an individual where they find their value it all depends. Some take it from their position at work, some take it from their financial status, some from friends, some from abilities and achievements, and the list goes on and on…
These values are good. These values are also temporal.
There is a value that can never be replaced and will never fade away. That is the value of the blood of Christ.
“for God bought you with a high price…” – 1 Corinthians 6:20 (NLT)
“…the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” – Acts 20:28 (NIV)
We were valued for blood. The blood of God. The death of an eternal God for your eternal life.
“…and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” – Hebrews 9:22 (NIV)
Why did He need to buy us with His blood? He valued our salvation.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23 (NIV)
We are valued
Worth more than His Kingship. Worth more than His glory. Worth more than His authority. Worth more than His life in heaven – to die a brutal death on Earth.
If you value that death – the death of God, you begin to realize you are worth far more than $4.50
You are worth a God’s life.
You are worth a God’s death.
This God is the one and only God. Creator of Heaven and Earth. Giver of life. Jesus Christ Himself.
And He says you are worth an eternity with Him.
Know your value. Don’t let the world tell you what you’re worth.
