The Law is not for us

Prison barsIn this world, we live by laws and rules that govern us in the way we live. The laws dictate what is right and wrong in order to maintain peace and harmony in our society. We were brought up thinking that the law is good – and it is in nature if the one who created it is good.

We’ve new laws nowadays that aren’t really good. At some countries in the world, they’ve passed corporate rape as allowed if it is indicted in the contract – sort of a disclaimer. What kind of twisted, demented mind (or minds) would allow such a law to be passed? Now that is just plain wrong. Laws are created to uphold evil – to go against the nature of human free will and evil desire and not to allow it to pass.

I’m sure you know about the 10 commandments.

Prison barsThese laws are to be kept in order for the Jewish people to say that they obeyed God and so they would be allowed to enter heaven. And apparently, we’ve adopted it to our culture, thinking that the law is there for us to get to heaven. Thinking that by obeying it (therefore doing “good”), it will get us any closer to God.

The law does not make us good. It just allows something good that God has created in us to hold it’s conscience through the law. We are created good – God does not make junk. But our disobedience allowed the sinful nature to be born in us. And unless we are born again in Christ, we cannot get to heaven. We cannot see the kingdom of God the way Jesus describes it.

The law is against us

Law boundIt was made to bar off our human nature. To set parameters on our being. Without it, we have no established basis of right and wrong. Without it, we are not aware if what we are doing is good or bad. And today, in light of Jesus Christ, it is no more than a guide for us to know that we are not to fulfil our own desires but to follow Him. It is not a means to be saved but a tool of realization that we cannot get any closer to God on our own ability of “being good”

Don’t ever look at the law as a means to be saved for it has never claimed itself to be such. Only through Jesus Christ can we have eternal life in paradise.

“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Can it get any simpler than that?

Anything you do won’t get you any closer to God. It won’t earn you eternal life. Only Jesus can give you that.
