Contributor: Spectralkid (Marty)

SpectralkidMarty’s been blogging since 2004 and has stopped for a year. He’s a graduate student of Ateneo De Manila University Bachelor of science, major in Electrical engineering. “I chose that course because they say there’s money there.” He loves to read and write, his friends, playing card games and long drives on the road. I guess there are just some things that appeal to everyone. And did I mention he loves to play Dota? He does.

I met Marty in PLDT play when I was already a retired Dota player. He was the clan “Chieftain” and so we got to talk quite a lot. He’s a great guy with a lot of interesting philosophies in life – which, I believe, he thought up during hard times in his life.

“I got the pseudonym ‘Spectralkid’ from a character in the first story I’ve written. I named him ‘Kid’. ‘Spectral’ just had a good ring to it. Haha!”

Contributor: Samantha Almeda
Sam Almeda“I’m a fifteen-year-old spontaneous Filipino who loves God. I’m currently a High School Junior in a small Christian school in Paranaque. I took up 7th Grade, but it just so happens that my birthday’s in March, so I turn 16 (The right age for 3rd Year High School students) just before the school year ends.”

I met Sam at a leadership camp in our church (CCF) she has quite the knack for writing about relationships and love. She’s a girl who keeps on looking for wisdom in all aspects of her life. A Bible-believing Christian (like me) she’s going to be contributing to this blog about her personal insights and experiences on letting God write our love story.

“I like writing based on my own, personal opinion. I believe writing should be like that. No one should be obliged to write about something they’re not really interested in. To those who wanna be good writers in the future (this is what my English teacher told me), I suggest that you widen your vocabulary and read good books.”

1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Contributor: Austin Takahashi

Austin TakahashiTo say that Austin is a movie-lover is an understatement. He’s the kind of guy who would profess not to marry due solely to the chance that he might not finish watching the greatest movies this world has to offer. His passion for movies has affected people and influenced them… In a positive way, of course. If I would ask someone if a movie is good or not, I would definitely go to Austin for his one or two cents about the film.

Me and Austin

“Hi there! My name is Austin Takahashi. But you can call me Auti. I am a low-maintenance type of individual. The home that I live in possess neither internet access, nor cable TV, nor a landline telephone. But I do have a DVD player and DVD’s, and I am happier than a hillbilly on heroine. I love movies; I watch at least 150 of ‘em a year. I watch every genre: drama, comedy, action, documentary, mockumentary (Borat) rom-com, rom-zom-com (romantic zombie comedy), gay horror (Final Destination Series), hardcore horror (Martyrs), and everything in between. And most importantly, I love ice cream. Who doesn’t?”
